Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

The practice currently offers virtual individual psychotherapy sessions as well as virtual skills groups for clients in New York and New Jersey. Clients must be physically located in either of these states during sessions regardless of home address, unless otherwise discussed with their therapist.

How do you make therapy accessible?

All sessions are held virtually through a HIPAA compliant video platform.

What is your Attendance and Cancellation policy? What is the benefit of going to therapy once a week?

Clients benefit the most from therapy when committing to weekly sessions. This enables you to build a strong working relationship with your new therapist and identify goals. The cadence of sessions may increase or decrease as time goes on based on need. Taking the step to start therapy means committing to doing the work to feel better. This requires consistency. The more you put into therapy the more you will get out of it.

When needing to cancel a session, clients must give at least 24 hours notice or they will be charged the full session fee. This fee is not reimbursed by insurance companies.

How do I get started?

You can schedule a phone consultation with me via the Book Consult button at the top right corner of the website, or you can be in touch with me through my Contact Me page. Therapeutic fit is so important, so I always encourage an ongoing open dialogue about what you are looking for in your therapy.

Rates

What is the rate for a therapy session?

Individual sessions are $200 and are 55 minutes long.

Skills group prices change depending on the number of group sessions, so check the Groups & Workshops page for specific information.

Do you accept insurance? How much would I pay for sessions if I use my out-of-network benefits?

This practice is out-of-network with insurance and clients are responsible for full payment after each session. However, if your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Typically insurance companies that offer these benefits will reimburse you for 60-80% of costs. Depending on your benefits this could compare similarly to in-network costs.

What if I still have some questions?

Whether you have questions about therapy, rates, billing, or out-of-network benefits, I'm here to help. I understand that finding the right therapist is a process and so is getting started. I want to make this as simple as possible for you, so please don’t hesitate to reach out for support.
